Abstract
Cet article présente les résultats d'une enquête sur la perception d'un groupe de chômeuses de long durée à l'égard de la maintenance informatique dans une entreprise française, dans le cadre d'un projet mené par une association de formation et d'insertion professionnelles. Cette association était persuadée que les qualités relationnelles soi-disant féminines pourraient faciliter l'entrée des femmes dans ce métier. Nous montrerons que, plutôt qu'incorporer dans leurs discours la valorisation de leurs qualités relationnelles, les femmes ont dans une certaine mesure intériorisé la représentation des tuteurs qui les accompagnent dans le stage. Cependant, elles arrivent à articuler leurs expériences antérieures avec les nouvelles connaissances acquises, ce qui leur permet de s'en sortir dans la maintenance en informatique.
