Abstract
Ce texte présente une analyse des écrits des récentes années concernant le domaine des soins. Les dimensions suivantes sont examinées. On y définit d'abord les soins, quant à leur contenu dans leurs expressions professionnelles et domestiques, et l'articulation de ces pratiques d'entretien de la vie à la production de la santé. Au-delà de leur contenu, ces pratiques sont porteuses de valeurs morales qui mettent en évidence l'importance de l'engagement affectif et de la protection. Lorsqu'il est question d'aborder ces pratiques comme porteuses de savoirs, on note leur faible reconnaissance et ce, malgré les évidences anthropologiques qui tendent à montrer leur richesse et le capital qu'elles représentent quant à la survie des populations humaines. La dernière partie du texte interroge la crise actuelle dont les soins sont l'objet et les enjeux de leur disparition.
