Résumé Les recherches qui ont été menées sur le comportement visionnaire des dirigeants de petites firmes ont donné lieu à une abondante littérature scientifique. Elles ont essayé de décrire le comportement anticipatoire et mobilisateur d’entrepreneurs soucieux de générer une dynamique autour d’un projet collectif et informel : la vision. Cet article propose d’enrichir ces recherches en étudiant et en conceptualisant le comportement entrepreneurial du dirigeant d’une petite entreprise qui conçoit et essaie de réaliser son projet industriel. Les auteurs de cet article ont opté pour un processus d’aller-retour entre la théorie élaborée autour des concepts étudiés et le terrain représenté par la petite entreprise. Dans un premier temps, cet article cherche à cerner les notions de vision, d’intention et d’anticipation, considérées comme les éléments constitutifs de la conception du projet. Dans un deuxième temps, il tente de comprendre la dynamique d’interaction entre ces trois concepts dans le processus mental et comportemental du dirigeant de la petite entreprise.
