Abstract

Cet article expose une réflexion théorique et empirique sur l’engagement des femmes pour l’égalité au sein des Nations Unies. Après avoir présenté brièvement des éléments d’analyse qui visent à mieux saisir les transformations qui ont cours sur la scène internationale, il retrace des moments clés de la prise en compte des droits des femmes aux Nations Unies afin d’illustrer les luttes menées par des femmes, des groupes de femmes et d’autres ONG pour transformer des institutions sexistes, hétérosexistes et racistes. Dans un dernier temps, il commente certains éléments de discours tenus par le Forum des ONG dans le contexte des négociations pour l’adoption d’un Programme d’action par les gouvernements participant à la quatrième Conférence mondiale sur les femmes à Beijing en 1995. En guise de conclusion, quelques éléments qui pourraient contribuer à la fissuration du dispositif de mondialisation capitaliste et conduire à sa transformation sont esquissés.
