Abstract
Au cours des dernières années l’islamisme a commencé à faire sentir sa présence en situation d’immigration. Derrière les revendications islamistes, il y a une idéologie qui véhicule un projet de société qui n’est pas prometteur du point de vue de la démocratie et des droits humains. Cet article propose d’analyser les fondements de la conception islamiste de la démocratie, en se référant aux textes fondateurs sur lesquels la conception islamiste a été construite. Il montre que deux postures de base ont été présentes : celle qui consiste à rejeter la démocratie et celle qui essaye de se l’approprier, c’est-à-dire en modifier le sens profond pour le faire coller aux conceptions du pouvoir traditionnelles. Il examine aussi l’impact du rejet de l’idéal démocratique sur l’évolution des sociétés arabo-musulmanes en général et sur leur transition démocratique.
