Abstract
Ce texte est constitué d'extraits d'une communication faite le 21 juin 1999 lors de la 9e Conférence sur la politique sociale canadienne, qui s'est tenue à l'Université de Montréal du 20 au 23 juin 1999. On y présente l'historique de la Coop Aide Rive-Sud, une coopérative de solidarité en aide domestique qui a débuté ses activités en mai 1998, après une gestation de près de deux ans. Le texte analyse les difficultés de mise en place de la coopérative et décrit les enjeux de ce dossier, tant sur les plans national, régional que local. Il propose enfin une douzaine de pistes d'action, en mettant l'accent sur les acquis et sur les fragilités.
