Abstract
Résumé La vie et l’œuvre de J.M. Barrie, auteur des récits de Peter Pan, sont marquées par un événement survenu durant l’enfance de l’auteur : la mort de son frère aîné. Ce frère mort n’en deviendra que plus vivant aux yeux de la mère mais aussi pour J.M. Barrie lui-même. Ce constat nous a amené a questionner ce que, à la suite d’André Green, nous nommons le travail du négatif . C’est à partir des travaux de D.W. Winnicott que André Green élabore sa pensée autour de la question du négatif. Le négatif comme vide qui se fait manque, mais un manque « gelé » par la confrontation au réel d’un événement qui, par-là, altère la capacité à jouer . Comment J.M. Barrie tentera de se défaire de ce frère mort et attirer le regard de sa mère ; c’est ce que nous nous proposons de mettre au travail à travers l’évocation de la vie de l’auteur et de son œuvre la plus célèbre : « Peter Pan ».
