Abstract
Dans ses recherches sur l'héritage colonial et les pratiques contemporaines de l'immigration canadienne, l'auteure cherche à penser la notion d'immigration spectacle comme une façon de comprendre comment la nation est « imaginée » institutionnellement à travers l'immigration. Sa note de recherche circonscrit la notion d'immigration spectacle en faisant une esquisse de deux concepts qui illustrent les rapports sexués à l'oeuvre dans l'immigration : le peuplement de la nation et l'immigrant ou l'immigrante désirable. Sur le plan analytique, Tamara Vukov se penche sur un cas historique dans lequel s'inscrivent les bases coloniales de l'immigration spectacle, soit les premières campagnes de promotion en vue de favoriser l'immigration. En guise de conclusion et pour faire suite aux questions que soulève sa recherche, elle met en évidence quelques sites contemporains révélateurs de l'immigration spectacle.
