Qu’est-ce qui constitue une réponse éthique au dévoilement de la vérité qui s’est passé dans le contexte des auditions de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation au Québec et au Canada ? En utilisant l’autoethnographie et la structure de la théologie contextuelle, l’auteur se faufile à travers l’exemple de l’histoire de sa famille à Gespe’gewa’gi (Gaspé). L’article montre comment l’identité coloniale des colons et leur blancheur sont liées à la théologie chrétienne Euro-centrique et informent celle-ci. Après avoir considéré l’expérience autochtone de la terre et des enseignements ancestraux sur la relation, la responsabilité et les protocoles, l’article se base sur des exemples herméneutiques écologiques et la théologie féministe postcoloniale pour récupérer au coeur des Écritures chrétiennes de la responsabilité et de la réciprocité, à la fois dans l’Alliance et les traditions radicales de don. L’article invite les lecteurs à entamer un processus de décolonisation d’eux-mêmes et de leurs traditions pour aller de l’avant sur le chemin de la réconciliation, sur un pied d’égalité avec les peuples autochtones, leurs partenaires.
