Abstract
Résumé L'oeuvre de Paul-Marie Lapointe est ici considérée du point de vue de sa , relation à l'essai. Trois aspects de la question sont abordés: la présence de l'essai au sein de l'oeuvre poétique; la nature et le statut des 'arts poétiques " en prose que Lapointe a publiés; la réception critique de son dernier ouvrage. S'inspirant d'une hypothèse empruntée à André Belleau concernant ce qu'il conviendrait d'appeler l'*intergénéricité" et s'appuyant sur une définition de l'essai proposée par Jean-Marcel Paquette, l'auteur conclut que l'essai est une part essentielle de l'oeuvre de Lapointe-. bien que celui-ci ait progressivement évacué l'essai de son oeuvre poétique, les *arts poétiques' en prose demeurent étroitement liés aux poèmes, ce que tend à confirmer la réception critique ¿ëcRiturEs.
