Cette étude repose sur un corpus d'interviews semi-directives où les sujets sont interrogés sur leurs territorialités et sur leurs déplacements quotidiens dans le quartier. J'envisagerai la mise en jeu de trois objets discursifs dans différentes interactions : la ville, le quartier, la rue . Selon la logique des relations parties-tout, la rue sera dite a priori « dans le quartier », le quartier « dans la ville ». Cependant les catégories sont susceptibles de « glisser » les unes sur les autres, ou de se substituer l’une à l’autre. La nature interactionnelle de ces descriptions de ville est évidemment déterminante pour la démarche explicative. Les conflits dialogaux et dialogiques sont ici le cadre « naturel » du modelage des entités urbaines. Versant cognitif et versant social de la production de sens sont étroitement liés.
