Abstract
Les femmes ne se répartissent pas au hasard dans la ville. Selon qu'elles vivent seules ou en couple, qu'elles ont ou non des enfants et, bien sûr, selon leur lieu d'origine, elles habitent des espaces différents et les investissent différemment. La sociabilité et la solidarité féminines se jouent dans des espaces bien précis ; proximité géographique et affective se court-circuitent, se renforcent mutuellement. À l'échelle urbaine, on remarque des concentrations de types de familles spécifiques dans certains quartiers. Par exemple, les familles monoparentales se concentrent au centre-ville et, encore là, risquent bien souvent de se retrouver dans certains sous-secteurs comme les coopératives d'habitation. Parler de sous-secteurs, c'est descendre au niveau des rues, des pâtés de maison ; on y rencontre souvent des groupes de voisines qui échangent une foule de services entre elles et qui, au fil de ces échanges matériels, deviennent amies. Enfin, on pourrait aller jusqu'au niveau de la maisonnée et voir comment cet espace traditionnellement associé aux femmes n'est pas nécessairement un lieu clos, mais traversé d'échanges et ouvert sur la communauté.
