Abstract
Depuis 1986, les entreprises privées peuvent légalement mettre en place des programmes d'accès à l'égalité et sont incitées, mais non obligées, à le faire par le gouvernement du Québec. L'approche québécoise repose sur l'initiative volontaire des directions d'entreprise en ce qui a trait au secteur privé. En 1987, le gouvernement du Québec instaurait un projet pilote pour encourager dix-sept entreprises privées à tenter l'expérience avec la supervision et l'aide financière des instances appropriées. Depuis, peu d'entreprises privées se sont ajoutées à ces volontaires. Dix ans plus tard, l'auteure revient dans ces entreprises pour constater l'état des choses et le bilan soulève bien des difficultés, notamment pour ce qui est des progrès des femmes dans les secteurs d'emploi non traditionnellement féminins, principalement dans les emplois de production et les métiers, et en ce qui concerne leurs problèmes d'intégration à long terme.
