Un, deux, trois... bistouri Technologie, symbolisme et rapports sociaux en salle d'opération L'étude comparative des systèmes médicaux a permis que se multiplient les recherches sur le système biomédical, surtout depuis le début des années 1980. C'est dans la foulée de tels travaux que se situe cette ethnographie des salles d'opération. Construits dans un univers technologique de plus en plus sophistiqué, les rapports de travail entre infirmières, anesthésistes et chirurgiens n'en sont pas moins le produit des multiples facettes des rapports sociaux et de leur dimension symbolique. L'auteur propose d'examiner comment la technologie structure les rapports de travail, dans quel sens les rapports sociaux de la société globale influencent ce qui se passe dans la salle d'opération et jusqu'à quel point les conditions de travail permettent de reproduire les rituels qui s'y déroulent.
