Abstract
Le récit littéraire québécois, lieu privilégié de la recherche intérieure, met en scène des personnages investis dans une quête identitaire. Cette situation entraîne un positionnement particulier du sujet face au temps : sa volonté de se définir exige qu'il s'inscrive dans une temporalité, mais elle l'amène aussi à adhérer à un hors-temps, qui lui fournit l'espace nécessaire à sa constitution. Dans le récit littéraire, la fin est ainsi posée à la fois comme nécessaire et impossible. Cet article analysera ce paradoxe, tout en cherchant à voir dans quelle mesure la problématique de la fin pourrait contribuer à une poétique du récit littéraire.
