Abstract
De scénarios en projets de films réalisés et projetés à l'écran, la carrière d'écrivain de Saint-Exupéry est jalonnée par ses rapports avec le cinéma. L'intérêt de ces œuvres, dont certaines n'ont pas dépassé le stade du brouillon, réside dans le fait que leur auteur s'y montre parfois sous un jour très différent de celui sous lequel il se présente habituellement. Le pouvoir évocateur de l'image, qu'il explore comme une nouvelle écriture, fait surgir un univers qui n'est plus celui de l'écrivain que l'on croit connaître. Poète et jardinier, ingénieur en même temps, le personnage de l'Inventeur dans Anne-Marie lui emprunte bien des traits, mais sans doute aussi, dans Igor, l'aventurier à la forte carrure, dont l'ascendant s'exerce sur tous ceux qui l'approchent. Si on retrouve le monde habituel du pilote, celui des bases aériennes, des vols risqués et de la chaude complicité du groupe, ce monde s'élargit de perspectives parfois étranges. L'image cinématographique agit comme un révélateur.
