Abstract
Sous la pression de divers groupes d’intérêts et au nom des droits à la liberté et à l’égalité, le mariage et la filiation ont été transformés, voire déconstruits au cours des dernières années. L’auteure du présent texte se penche sur les principaux jalons de cette évolution : elle y examine en particulier le rôle qu’ont pu y jouer les chartes de droits et certaines avancées technologiques. Mus par des vagues successives d’individualisme, ces bouleversements modifient profondément les relations entre les personnes et l’État : les institutions généalogiques s’affaiblissent et les relations intimes s’organisent de plus en plus sur une base contractuelle. Le morcellement qui en résulte soulève des questions de sens demeurées à ce jour sans réponse.
