Abstract
Nous proposons une délimitation de la structure sociale du « capitalisme avancé » par le biais d’une demarche « idéaltypique ». Nous commençons par une critique des limites et apports de quelques approches marxistes et néomarxistes du capitalisme contemporain, en particulier des variantes « expressionnistes » et régulationnistes. L’objectif de cette première section est de faire un tri parmi les catégories fondamentales de Marx afin de dégager les propriétés qui relèvent du noyau dur et invariant des rapports sociaux capitalistes. Ensuite nous abordons l’idéaltype du capitalisme avancé à travers l’examen de trois institutions qui le caractérisent et le différencient du capitalisme de la modernité classique. Ces structures institutionnelles sont la forme « corporative » de l’entreprise, le capital financier et le salariat. Chaque forme fait l’objet d’une analyse qui souligne l’apport des travaux institutionnalistes récent à la compréhension de cette structure. L’argument conclu sur la dynamique de « massification » qui caractérise le mouvement d’ensemble du capitalisme avancé depuis un siècle.
