RESEÑAS como la penitencia.Las fuentes de Ribera no habrían sido necesariamente erasmistas, sino provenientes de su lectura del pasaje de las bodas de Canán en el Evangelio según San Juan, aunque con un importante subtexto proveniente de las imágenes utilizadas en el Cantar de los Cantares.Ribera formula así un "erotismo sagrado" que le da una calidad peculiar en el conjunto de las letras castellanas de la época.El estudio de la profesora Colombí-Monguió cumple convincentemente con el propósito formulado al principio del volumen, que es el de mostrar la calidad muchas veces superior de los poetas indianos y de reformular un canon que hasta ahora sigue presentando vacíos notables tanto en las tradiciones de apropiación nacional del legado virreinal como en el mapa regional de las letras hispanoamericanas.
