Phase-Space Geometry Near a Rank-Two Saddle: The Case of Helium Double Ionization

Abstract
In this talk I will illustrate the geometry in phase space in the vicinity of a rank‐two saddle using an example of current experimental interest, the non‐sequential double ionization of helium. In particular, I will focus on the invariant manifolds which direct the Hamiltonian flow and on the transition states that enable one to calculate the rate of the flow.
