Abstract
Après avoir affiché des performances remarquables, le Togo a connu une crise économique profonde qui l'a contraint à adopter une politique économique rigoureuse, à savoir les Programmes d'ajustement structurel (PAS). Si l'application des mesures préconisées n'a pas entraîné une chute remarquable des dépenses publiques de santé, la baisse du PIB causée par les réductions des dépenses gouvernementales, des investissements publics et la contraction des effectifs de la fonction publique ont eu des impacts négatifs sur la demande et l'offre des services sanitaires dans le pays conduisant ainsi à une détérioration de l'état de santé de la population.
