Abstract
RÉSUMÉ Quand les parents refont leur vie. Regards adolescents sur la famille recomposée Les familles recomposées, encore méconnues il y a quinze ans. sont élevées en Amérique du Nord et dans bien des pays européens au statut de « nouveau modèle familial ». Mais ces familles nous intriguent, et plusieurs chercheurs ont démontré l'existence d'un stéréotype négatif envers elles. Celui-ci s'inscrit dans un courant de pensée qui tend à uniformiser le modèle de vie jugé « idéal » pour les enfants et les adolescents, marginalisant de ce fait toute structure familiale qui s'écarte de la famille biparentale intacte. Comment s'est construit ce stéréotype? Est-ce que les jeunes Québécois vivant en famille recomposée le reprennent à leur compte? C'est à l'examen de ces questions que nous consacrons cet article, qui s'appuie sur une recension des écrits et une étude exploratoire analysant des données qualitatives. Mots clés : Saint-Jacques.
