Abstract
Ce travail mettra en lumière le rôle majeur que pourra jouer la sociolinguistique aussi bien dans l’explication des difficultés d’enseignement/apprentissage du français en milieu rural marocain que dans la réduction de ces mêmes difficultés. Nous aurons particulièrement à montrer que les compétences que l’école cherche à développer chez l’élève, pour ce qui est du français notamment, ne sont pas exclusivement linguistiques. Certains élèves les acquièrent in situ et ce sont eux qui parviennent, le plus souvent, à exceller en la matière. La sociolinguistique pourra grandement contribuer à mettre au jour cet état de fait et permettra, à coup sûr, de rendre l’enseignement/apprentissage de cette langue moins discriminatoire et plus efficient.
