Abstract
En 1983, le ministre provincial de l'Enseignement supérieur annonce la création de six centres spécialisés dans autant de cégeps du Québec. Ils doivent collaborer au développement technologique de la province par le biais de la recherche appliquée, de l'aide technique et de la formation de concert avec l'entreprise, ainsi que soutenir la relance de la formation professionnelle par un rapprochement avec l'industrie. L'institutionnalisation de ces centres est le résultat de la dynamique qui s'est établie entre les instances centrales de planification et les établissements. Les centres se sont constitués progressivement à la faveur d'investissements dans des cadres formels de gestion et de la formulation d'une identité sociotechnique spécifique à chacun, elle-même fonction des ressources et des acteurs locaux.
