Après le succès rapide de l'opération militaire américaine en Afghanistan contre les talibans et le réseau d'Al Qaida, le nouveau gouvernement afghan pro-occidental paraît stable.Pourtant, les combats de début mars 2002 engagés contre des poches de résistance en divers points du pays laissent supposer que le territoire n'est encore qu'imparfaitement maîtrisé.Cependant, l'onde de choc du dernier épisode de la guerre civile afghane va bien au-delà du simple renversement du régime des talibans et de la persistance des combats en Afghanistan.1. Où les Américains partageraient la base avec les Français, selon Le Monde du 31 janvier 2002.Des avions de combat des deux pays seraient stationnés sur cet aérodrome.
