Abstract
Plusieurs groupes pro-vie soutiennent l’idée que les femmes interrompant une grossesse sont à risque de développer le syndrome postavortement. Or, même si ce syndrome n’a jamais été reconnu officiellement dans le domaine médical, il semble constituer une arme efficace utilisée par le mouvement pro-vie pour décourager les femmes de recourir à un avortement. S’inspirant d’une perspective féministe, cet article examine cinq difficultés pouvant avoir une incidence sur le bien-être des femmes qui interrompent une grossesse : les impacts d’une grossesse non désirée; l’oppression religieuse et patriarcale; les facteurs socio-économiques; les violences envers les femmes; et l’influence négative du mouvement pro-vie. Des pistes d’interventions pertinentes au champ du service social sont proposées.
