Abstract
The Canadian Medical Association has launched a health portal with a direct and secure link for patients to share the data they input with their doctor in online consultations. The portal uses secure messaging, an application that offers a private channel of communication between doctors and patients, as a safer alternative to email. Patients and doctors can communicate online about matters such as monitoring chronic disease, follow-ups after appointments, and prescription renewals.
