Abstract
On le sait, la littérature africaine est un produit de la rencontre entre les pays impériaux d’Europe et le continent noir. Mais il s’agit d’une littérature qui a du mal à s’instituer et à élaborer des canons qui lui soient propres. Cet article tente de faire le point sur les controverses qui opposent écrivains et critiques au sujet du statut de cette nouvelle tradition littéraire et propose quelques pistes quant à la question de son autonomisation.
