Abstract
L’article expose les résultats d’une enquête empirique conduite en France, en 1999, auprès des députés des deux sexes de la onzième législature (élus en mai-juin 1997). Quelles sont les représentations touchant au vécu des discriminations en politique, à l’antiféminisme parlementaire, au coût privé de l’engagement, au renouveau politique par les femmes? Telles sont les questions abordées au cours de cette investigation. Deux enseignements s’en dégagent : 1) en politique, comme dans la vie professionnelle, c’est à l’ombre de la vie privée que se forgent les inégalités entre les sexes; 2) à gauche, le féminisme concerne, désormais, beaucoup les hommes, comme si le mouvement pour la parité avait réussi à leur donner mauvaise conscience.
