Abstract
La notion de communauté culturelle ou communauté ethnoculturelle est étroitement liée à l’immigration au Québec. Les définitions qui lui sont données en fonction d’une recherche, d’une intervention ou d’une politique gouvernementale ne semblent pas toujours correspondre à la réalité. Entre les définitions reçues des auteurs, des écoles, des courants ou des programmes gouvernementaux et la réalité, nous avons choisi de donner la parole en priorité aux jeunes Hindous rencontrés lors de notre recherche-action. Il nous est apparu que les définitions reçues, de même que nos propres présupposés au début de notre recherche se trouvent nuancés par ce que nous ont dit les jeunes rencontrés. Ce qui incite à réexaminer, à travers le point de vue de la deuxième génération, l’intégration des communautés ethnoculturelles dans un pays comme le Québec. Sans doute y a-t-il là matière à réflexion à la fois pour les sciences humaines et pour tout ce qu’englobent les préoccupations sociales.
