Este artigo oferece uma reflexão estruturada sobre uma nova alternativa metodológica de pesquisa, que foi trabalhada na construção de uma tese de douto¬rado em educação (1999), na Universidade de Sherbrooke (Quebec), Canadá. Ao utilizar a técnica do círculo hermenêutico-dialético (CHD) de Guba e Lincoln (1989) para fazer a coleta de dados, e analisando esses dados através do método de análise hermenêutica-dialética de Minayo (1996), a autora fez uma série de adapta¬ções para atender as necessidades da realidade em estudo. Essa pesquisa resultou da análise de um projeto de parceria entre a Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) e o Instituto de Pesquisa e de Ensino para as Cooperativas (IRECUS) da Universidade de Sherbrooke (US). Esse estudo teve como temática a formação do técnico em associativismo/cooperativismo, numa perspectiva de de¬senvolvimento local, no Nordeste do Brasil. Finalmente, é possível afirmar que a metodologia interativa permite uma participação efetiva de todos os atores sociais envolvidos na pesquisa, eliminando-se ao máximo a subjetividade do pesquisador. Face ao processo de vai-e-vem do CHD, chega-se a uma pré-análise dos dados, que são categorizados em blocos e cada unidade de análise facilita a construção do conhecimento com respaldo na teoria que subsidia a pesquisa.
