Abstract
Cet article vise à établir une typologie des leaders de groupes verts du Québec à partir de variables d'attitudes témoignant des rapports du mouvement vert et de ces leaders aux institutions. Trois types de leaders se dégagent. Les « écologistes », plus radicaux, sont méfiants à l'égard de la science et de la technologie et acceptent que des sacrifices économiques soient faits pour améliorer la qualité de l'environnement. Ces leaders sont plus jeunes que les autres, ils militent en majeure partie dans des groupes montréalais et ils favorisent le développement de l'énergie éolienne. Quant aux « environnementalistes nationalistes » et aux « environnementalistes de marché », ils se distinguent surtout par des positions divergentes à l'égard d'Hydro-Québec. Les premiers perçoivent positivement cette société d'État, alors que les seconds la voient d'un mauvais œil et en favorisent la privatisation.
