Abstract
Penser la démocratie en Afrique impose de se questionner sur les rapports de pouvoir qui s’imposent dans le monde actuel. À quelles conditions un pays peut-il être démocratique alors qu’il manque de souveraineté ? Une démocratie est-elle viable sans s’assurer d’abord de sa souveraineté politique et économique ? Comment les démocraties africaines peuvent-elles résister aux pressions des grands organismes internationaux managériaux qui appuient la mondialisation néolibérale au détriment des droits politiques et sociaux les plus élémentaires ? Et pourtant, il est vital de réactiver ce qui, au sein des sociétés africaines, est de l’ordre de l’instituant et préserve la vie, et permettrait de construire d’authentiques démocraties africaines.
