Abstract
Abstract: While the Korean church, particularly in its Presbyterian branches, experienced remarkable growth in the last half century, that growth has now flattened, and competitiveness and division characterize the life of churches focused on personal evangelism and church growth. During its 120-year history, the Korean church had its greatest impact on society and culture when it balanced evangelical faith with robust social engagement. The adoption of an authentic Calvinist vision can lead to a recovery of this balance, and already three neo-Calvinist, socio-religious movements give evidence of such a recovery: the Christian world view movement, the Korean Association for Christian Scholarship, and the Christian Ethics Movement Society.
