Abstract
Albertine Sarrazin apparaît bel et bien comme une « exception française », un « hapax sociologique ». Engagée jusqu’au cou « dans une révolte individuelle que grâce à son talent, son intelligence, sa sensibilité, elle saura […] transmuer en littérature », cette reprise de justice a vendu des best-sellers : trois textes publiés chez Pauvert en 1965 et 1966 — deux écrits de prison, L’astragale et La cavale, puis La traversière. Dans les années 1960, cet écrivain ne s’est pas placé en dilettante entre le nouveau roman en pleine ascension et le roman réaliste ou psychologique dont la double tradition continue à s’imposer. Les moyens de son écriture sont d’abord ceux d’une motivation essentiellement venue de l’intérieur, contre un univers extérieur dont elle est bannie. La réclusion est d’abord constitutive de son écriture et c’est cet aspect, trop peu retenu par la critique de ses oeuvres ces dernières années, que cet article vise à examiner. Car cette écriture concerne avant tout un corps dont « l’âme » résiste en tentant d’échapper à l’autorité qui s’exerce sur lui par une punition qui en toute violence le prive de liberté.
