Abstract
La question de l’adhésion, par des peuples d’Asie, aux valeurs, aux richesses et de la langue et de la culture françaises prend une dimension d’une tout autre ampleur que celle du choix utilitaire, commode de la langue anglaise dans un temps dominé par l’économisme. Dans les trois pays de l’ancienne Indochine française, cette adhésion, devenue libre depuis la fin de la colonisation et l’instauration des langues nationales d’abord dans l’administration puis dans l’enseignement, relève d’une démarche individuelle et ne s’apparente plus à un phénomène collectif. Cette évolution est encouragée par l’entrée de ces pays dans un réseau régional de relations dont la langue commune est l’anglais.
