Abstract
Les comités de santé-sécurité du travail ont été institués pour faciliter la participation des travailleurs, pourtant ces derniers ne leur accordent qu'un faible appui. Des analyses de régression portant sur 79 comités d'établissements syndiqués du secteur manufacturier montrent que ce faible appui s'explique par une logique instrumentale et politique. Les auteurs interprètent cette connotation politique en regard du fait qu'au Québec, le comité de santé-sécurité participe au « gouvernement » du milieu de travail en matière de prévention des lésions professionnelles et dispose d'un pouvoir de régulation pouvant affecter les comportements au travail des ouvriers.
