Abstract
La loi n? 2002-2 du 2 janvier 2002 rénovant l’action sociale et médico-sociale affirme et promeut les droits des usagers. À cette fin, elle requiert la mise en place de conseils de la vie sociale, dans le but d’associer les bénéficiaires au fonctionnement des établissements et des services sociaux et médico-sociaux. Mais, cette participation, bien qu’elle s’inscrive dans un mouvement général de reconnaissance des individus, reste marquée par les rapports sociaux d’usage qui définissent la position de l’usager et ses relations à l’utilisation du service. L’observation participante du Conseil de la vie sociale d’un foyer accueillant vingt-deux jeunes pris en charge dans le cadre de la Protection de l’enfance met en évidence les tensions qui se font jour lors de cette instance entre les différents protagonistes, autour des valeurs associées à la place de l’usager dans la relation d’aide.
