Abstract
Résumé Un regard panoramique sur les élections en Afrique noire francophone révèle une dérive redoutable qui incontestablement réduit à néant les avancées du nouveau constitutionnalisme enclenché depuis les années 1990. Il reste à espérer qu’elle correspond aux choix électoraux d’un clan politique qui ne durera pas aussi longtemps que l’Empire romain ! En conséquence, il faut dénouer la malédiction semblant s’attacher aux élections qui veut qu’on les tripatouille en croyant les servir autant qu’on les sert en paraissant les trahir (les tueries ou les assassinats à grande échelle, dit-on, font, entre autres, la valeur des élections en Afrique noire francophone). Ce n’est peut-être qu’à ce prix que les transitions démocratiques ou politiques enclenchées depuis 1990 arriveront convenablement à leur terme.
