L’architecture dans les romans de Sarraute et de Perec : manipulations et détournements

Abstract
Le but de cet article est de montrer, par une comparaison entre les oeuvres romanesques de Nathalie Sarraute et de Georges Perec, comment la question de l’architecture intérieure — et par là, celle du statut de l’objet — entretient de solides liens avec la manière de concevoir le roman de cette période. Derrière le foisonnement des objets qui meublent les oeuvres, se dessine la figure du vide, présenté sous des formes très différentes. Le vide : voilà sur quoi ces oeuvres se bâtissent. Je verrais dans ce vide une des modalités par lesquelles le roman évolue, et par là, une manière de sortir d’un regard phénoménologique sur l’architecture intérieure pour tenter une approche post-phénoménologique où le statut de l’objet a désormais davantage à voir avec le design qu’avec l’école du regard.
