Résumé Cet article met en évidence les mécanismes individuels et collectifs d’exploitation et de renouvellement des ressources régionales sous-jacents au processus de développement territorial. Il montre que les apprentissages individuels, réalisés par des acteurs productifs dans le cadre de leurs activités innovatrices, participent au développement de capacités collectives lorsque des agents de territorialisation assurent le développement de proximités institutionnelles et organisationnelles en coordonnant, à l’échelle locale, les actions des agents productifs. Sur le plan empirique, l’analyse est basée sur deux études de cas, celles des activités de recherche et développement (R-D) du Centre canadien de fusion magnétique (CCFM) et celles de six filiales biopharmaceutiques installées au Québec. Elle examine comment les activités de donneurs d’ordres actifs en R-D contribuent au développement territorial.
