Abstract
Assia Djebar, qui est l’une des écrivaines les plus connues de la littérature maghrébine actuelle, a exploré de façon exemplaire les difficultés pour une femme algérienne musulmane et, qui plus est, issue de la colonisation française de s’abandonner à l’écriture de soi. Bien que L’amour, la fantasia soit son premier livre dit autobiographique, la lecture ici proposée tente de montrer qu’à l’instar de l’essai autobiographique de Jacques Derrida, Le monolinguisme de l’autre, ce « roman » expose davantage une réflexion sur l’impossible autobiographie qu’il n’expose la vie de son auteure. Cet article se penchera sur les différents procédés utilisés par Djebar dans ce récit au croisement de la « vérité » et de la fiction : l’inclusion du discours historique, l’intégration des récits oraux, la mise en scène d’un « Je » pluriel ; autant de procédés impersonnels qui transgressent l’autobiographie au sens restreint de sa définition. En outre, si écrire c’est déjà sortir de soi — « Je est un autre » selon la maxime rimbaldienne —, s’écrire en langue française, pour Djebar, c’est aussi prendre conscience que l’écriture autobiographique ne peut finalement qu’être une mise à nu voilée.
