Abstract
La pandémie du VIH comporte trois formes, l’une purement médicale, une autre qui touche la santé publique, une troisième à caractère social par les peurs qu’elle suscite. Chacune d’elles s’accompagne de pratiques d’exclusion spécifiques, exclusion du système de soins, exclusion des politiques de prévention et, enfin, discrimination des personnes atteintes. Des actions de solidarité inédites tentent d’enrayer ces pratiques de rejet. Mais plus largement, cette pandémie et les réactions qu’elle engendre sont révélatrices de nouvelles formes de construction et de sélection des risques sociaux. La notion de « bio-pouvoir » définie par M. Foucault s’applique bien à ces phénomènes.
