Abstract
Le phénomène de la traite des femmes à des fins d’exploitation sexuelle se développe dans un nouvel ordre patriarcal qui, en banalisant la marchandisation du corps et de la sexualité, normalise la prostitution. Ce processus apparaît engagé en vertu d’un présumé « droit au sexe » des hommes et de l’injonction à la libération sexuelle des femmes, voire de leur « droit » de se prostituer. Pour imposer un modèle normatif à l’ensemble des femmes, ce régime patriarcal recomposé, épaulé par le mouvement de libéralisation économique de nos sociétés, refuse toute entrave au développement des marchés. L’alliance patriarcat-néolibéralisme s’appuie sur l’idéologie de l’individualisme et du libre choix pour freiner la lutte contre la traite à des fins d’exploitation sexuelle, et même la favoriser. Enfin, les auteures exposent leur théorie du double mouvement de l’ordre patriarcal, afin de l’articuler à une analyse de la banalisation du sexe tarifé et de la pornographisation de l’espace public.
