Les pertes historiques de 40 milliards de dollars qu’a connues la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) en 2008 se sont produites dans le contexte de changements constitutifs pour ce symbole de la Révolution tranquille. Cet article soutient que ces changements s’inscrivent dans un processus de mutation organisationnelle qui découle de l’application des principes de la nouvelle gestion publique (NGP) et de la marginalisation du rôle de la CDPQ dans le développement économique du Québec. Notre analyse révèle que le discours éditorialiste a adhéré aux principes de la législation actuelle et à la nouvelle vision organisationnelle qui y est associée. La mutation organisationnelle de la CDPQ et son mandat actuel reçurent ainsi une approbation de principe du discours éditorial au cours de la période de la présidence d’Henri-Paul Rousseau (2002-2008).
