Abstract
Depuis une vingtaine d'années, des chercheuses féministes se préoccupent des biais sexistes en sciences naturelles, en particulier dans l'étude de la santé. Dans leur article, Deguire et Messing examinent ces biais en fonction de la santé au travail, et plus particulièrement des indicateurs de santé. Plusieurs auteures et auteurs ont proposé que l'absence pour maladie pourrait être un indicateur utile de problèmes de santé au travail dans des emplois où les accidents de travail ne sont pas fréquents, notamment dans les emplois traditionnellement féminins. Dans leur recherche, les auteures ont considéré 45 études concernant les absences au travail dans le but de voir : les déterminants potentiels qui ont été explorés en fonction du sexe des sujets; le traitement du sexe en tant que variable. Dans les trois quarts des recherches, on ne tenait pas compte des spécificités des femmes telles leurs conditions de travail, de vie et leur biologie.
