Abstract
RésuméDepuis 1998, année où les soins palliatifs ont été intégrés officiellement au continuum de soins dans le cadre du programme de lutte contre le cancer, de nombreux rapports gouvernementaux ont mis l’accent sur la nécessité de mettre en place des programmes de soins palliatifs pour répondre aux besoins de la population en fin de vie dans tous les milieux concernés. Dix ans plus tard, l’ensemble de la population québécoise n’a toujours pas accès à des soins palliatifs en fin de vie. Cet article fait état de la situation qui prévaut au Québec et met en évidence le manque de formation des professionnels de la santé dans ce domaine comme étant l’un des facteurs limitant l’accès à des soins palliatifs pour tous ceux qui pourraient en bénéficier.
