Abstract
L'histoire de la syndicalisation des travailleurs sociaux du Québec est particulièrement révélatrice de l'évolution de nos pratiques sociales. Nous examinons ici trois phases d'organisation de ces syndicats au cours des années 60 et 70 dans trois milieux différents: les hôpitaux, à partir de 1963, les agences de service social, au cours de la deuxième partie de la même décennie, et les Centres locaux de services communautaires, à partir de 1975. Cette étude nous montre que le rapport entre syndicalisation et stratégie syndicale, d'une part, profession et intervention sociale, d'autre part, s'est transformé en passant d'une relation d'imbrication mutuelle à une forme d'instrumentante politique et idéologique tant dans le processus de radicalisation du discours syndical et politique que dans le contexte de crise du fordisme et du providentialisme.
