Abstract
Depuis quelques années, l'Europe est confrontée à une crise des sciences qui se marque par un désintérêt des jeunes pour les sciences, les études et les carrières scientifiques. De nombreuses initiatives sont nées pour tenter de renverser cette tendance. Mais ces initiatives s'organisent souvent autour d'objectifs qui n'offrent guère de projet au-delà de la promotion des sciences en elles-mêmes. L'éducation relative à l'environnement peut ici jouer un rôle en tant que levier d'intentionnalité de manière à placer ces initiatives dans un projet plus citoyen. L'éducation scientifique offre alors à ce projet les ruptures nécessaires pour conduire vers le questionnement élaboré et armé. Et, dans un temps ultérieur, l'éducation à l'environnement offre un nouveau relais, pour l'action dans un réseau social élargi, rendant ainsi possible la confrontation et donc le développement des savoirs, de compétences et in fine de comportement.
