La création d’un nouveau musée – le musée du quai Branly – disposant d’espaces d’exposition non conventionnels a été l’occasion d’imaginer un projet prenant pour objet les instruments et la musique, considérée pour la valeur esthétique de cette forme d’expression artistique et pour ce qu’elle a le pouvoir de révéler. La responsable de ce projet montre comment celui-ci, construit à partir des acquis du passé, est fondé, pour l’essentiel, sur une association aussi étroite que rigoureuse entre des approches artistiques et scientifiques.
